The Tunnel |
Agility training is a fun way to bond with your pets. Amazingly the rats are picking this up quickly. They love the praise they get for doing what they were supposed to. Teaching a rat to walk through a tunnel is one of the easier tricks that can be taught. We make it into a game for our rats and they love the out/play time it creates. We use a treat to coax them at first but before long they will do it for a scratch on the ear or tummy...or just for the fun of it. Pre-made agility sets are available for purchase in you choice of colors. With Tunnel training we have a make shift tunnel made out of 2 cardboard rolls that crochet thread comes on. It is the perfect size to start with. |

Buffy took to the tunnel like a pro. She needed little coaxing to come out the other side. |

Nona was not happy just going through the tunnel one way, but insists on turning around and going through the other way every time too. |

Junior also had to have a turn to show boys can learn new stuff too. As you can see at first he thought it was a cleaning game.... |

But after a few tries and a few treats he learned quickly what he was to do and now does so every time even without a treat. |

Even young Casey got a turn and did quite well. |
